DARKNESS

Darkness poured in from the sea
Not soft and cooling
but as black screeching birds
with steel claws, like threatening
ragged clouds above our heads

We stood surprised and silent
no one had experienced anything like this
Far over there, voices could be heard
who soon fell silent, we searched for a long time
but those who were gone were never found

Much later, some said they had seen it
from start, but didn´t believe that it would
be like last time, or before that
We should have learnt anyway, they thought so
and therefore stayed silent
